HAE promotes SSIP
28 September 2021
The HAE is partnering with the Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) health and safety organisation to align its SafeHire Certification Scheme with PAS 91 construction industry pre-qualification modules.
The association is encouraging its members to join the SSIP accreditation management service to simplify supply chain procedures and potentially attract new business.
SSIP aims to reduce duplication and lessen demands on suppliers with multiple certifications under different schemes.
HAE’s director of certification services, Carl Bartlett, said: “SafeHire and SSIP are not just for large organisations, but also for SMEs (small to medium enterprises). SafeHire is a robust industry-specific standard designed by the industry for the industry, and achieving SafeHire certification and SSIP approval will help businesses secure more opportunities.
“As all SSIP members agree to mutually recognise each other’s schemes, so procurement departments should as well. The whole purpose is to remove bureaucracy and reduce costs associated with the different schemes.”
HAE will promote SafeHire and its alliance with SSIP at the Safety in Construction Show in Loughborough on 6 October.
