Hares adds first minis

Hares Hire Services has added mini excavators to its fleet for the first time, having just taken delivery of two JCB 1-tonne machines.

Daren Hare, managing director of the Rainham-based independent, says that the company has re-hired such machines in the past but now has the workshop space and personnel to introduce them to its line-up.

“They are compact enough to gain access to the rear of houses,” he says. “Landscapers and small builders are still very busy undertaking home and garden improvement projects.

“And much of the demand is for hires of short duration, which attracts a better daily rate. It’s just like last summer when people on furlough got work done.”

Daren ordered the machines back in February and took delivery of them recently, reflecting the current pressures on the supply chain – as reported previously.

Daren reports that the demand for compact access products, from manual push-around lifts to scissors lifts, also remains very strong. Hares Hire Services now has 170 such equipment items in its fleet.

Other new additions include pipe racks from Metal and Modular Fabrication Services, also shown in the picture.
