More minis for NPH

NPH Hire ‘N’ Sales Ltd of Bristol recently added four new Bobcat E10z mini excavators to its fleet to meet ongoing demand. 

The business specialises in supplying diggers, dumpers and rollers on both an operated and non-operated basis in and around the city.

Like so many other hirers at the moment, MD Nigel Potter tells me that he has never known the market to be so consistently busy. “We normally like to run at about 80% utilisation if we can but at the moment virtually everything is out on hire. When kit comes back, we’re servicing it as fast as we can and getting it to more customers who are waiting. 

“We’ve also added a lot more Kubota minis to the fleet – machines that we ordered last year. 

“Some machine suppliers are now telling me that, if I place orders now, delivery will be next April. I’ve never experienced anything like it. We're working seven days a week to keep pace because we don’t want to let people down.

“Hire has always about being responsive. The problem is that, once people know you’ll react quickly and help them out at the eleventh hour, a lot of them then get into the habit of leaving their requests till the last minue.”
