CPA to tackle carbon

Challenges facing the plant industry in embracing net zero carbon strategies and adopting digitalisation will be the theme of the CPA’s 2021 Conference to be held at the Heart of England Conference and Event Centre near Coventry on Thursday, 14 October.
CPA Chief Executive Kevin Minton says that these are the two main topics that Association members and industry professionals want to discuss. One will be addressed in the morning and the other during the afternoon session.
“The construction industry has played a critical role in the course of the Covid-19 pandemic, helping support vital infrastructure, building the Nightingale Hospitals and driving economic growth at a time when other sectors were forced to close. Now as we look to the future, the government’s plans to ‘Build Back Better’ confirm the role of construction in the post-pandemic economy.
“The event will combine keynote speeches with panel debates and interactive discussion. The intent is to hold it live with all relevant Covid-19 guidelines adhered to, and we are also looking into bringing a virtual element to the conference for those who may not be able to attend in person.”
The Conference will be hosted by former television news journalist Merryn Myatt who performed the same role at the event in 2019, pictured above.
