CPA Stars to have their day
24 March 2021
I think it’s hugely positive and praiseworthy that the CPA (Construction Plant-hire Association) has reviewed its Stars of the Future Apprentice and Trainee Awards in light of the roadmap out of lockdown.
The event was scheduled to be held online in July, but the plan now is to hold a live, physical ceremony on 14 September so that these talented young people can publicly receive the recognition they deserve.
The event will be held at the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre in Fillongley near Coventry. The deadline for nominations has been extended to 31 May and details are available at www.cpa.uk.net.
CPA chief executive Kevin Minton said: “Even though physical events may well be allowed from 21 June, there is still a great deal of uncertainty and we didn’t want to run the risk of limiting the event to a purely online awards announcement for the second year running.
“We also realise that colleges have only recently returned to live classes, so by extending the nomination deadline it allows more preparation time in terms of gathering information together for the nomination process.”
