CPA seeks Stars
8 January 2021
It will be the height of summer when the CPA’s Stars of the Future apprentice and trainee awards for 2021 are presented – so that’s a pleasing prospect to look forward to as we currently cope with winter temperatures.
Six national titles are up for grabs and nominations are now invited from plant hire companies, manufacturers, contractors, suppliers and others operating in the construction plant sector with apprentices and trainees in their workforce.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Thursday, 1 July. The closing date for nominations is Wednesday, 31 March and forms are available at www.cpa.uk.net
The awards categories comprise Plant Mechanic of the Year (Level 2), Plant Technician of the Year (Level 3), Plant Operative of the Year, Lifting Technician of the Year, Hire Controller of the Year and a new category for Plant Installer of the Year.
Kevin Minton, CPA chief executive said: “Stars of the Future recognises the UK’s most promising apprentices and trainees in the construction plant sector and the awards scheme is now in its ninth year. Last year we had over 70 nominees."
Previous prizes have included Snap-on tool kits, iPads for machine diagnostics and an all-expenses paid trip to Germany to visit a Liebherr crane manufacturing plant.
