Tufftruk developments

Expect to see new products from Tufftruk during 2021.

The Staffordshire-based manufacturer of walk-behind mini dumpers recently promoted general manager Andrew Simpson (pictured right) to become managing director, with founder Ron Blackhurst now chairman.

Tufftruk’s portfolio includes the articulated Truxta 4x4 mini dumper and the battery powered Truxta EV variant.

Andrew first worked with Ron 30 years ago as an engineer apprentice at mixer manufacturer Belle Engineering, and helped integrated the acquired businesses of Errut Products and Panther International into what became Belle Group (sold in 2009 to the Altrad group).

Andrew will focus on the day-to-day running of the Tufftruk business, with Ron able to concentrate on new product development.

“It’s going to be an exciting year for us,” Ron told me. “We are going like a train developing and testing in readiness for bringing the new machines out.”

Ron said that the newcomers could be ready in time for the Hillhead plant exhibition near Buxton, scheduled to take place from 22 to 24 June.
