Optimism shines at Illumin8

As the end of this most challenging of years fast approaches, here’s a story with a brighter outlook - literally.

A major market for the specialist hirer, Illumin8 Lights, is normally the events industry but with shows and festivals having been cancelled due to the pandemic, the business has worked hard to focus on its other sectors, as we reported back in July.

And it’s paid off. The Essex-based company now reports increasing demand for lighting equipment on construction sites, trackside works and industrial projects and has purchased a further 50 X-Eco LED lighting towers from Trime UK.

Illumin8 MD Neil Fenwick said, “We now have one of the newest and largest fleets of lighting towers and, although the event side of our business has been badly hit by this pandemic, we have seen a big increase in demand for lighting from our construction, utility and rail clients.

“We are very optimistic for 2021 and we believe that it’s going to be a very exciting year for us.”

Trime states that the machine’s energy saving LED lamps will work for up to 50,000 hours without replacement. The unit also has a tracking system that allows engineers to monitor key operational parameters remotely.

Illumin8’s hire fleet currently totals more than 500 lighting sets, all of them Trime machines.
