Snorkelling in the City

City Hire has expanded its fleet with the addition of ten Snorkel S3010P push-around scissor lifts.

The machines have a lift capacity of 240kg, weigh 370kg, and can be carried in a passenger lift.

City Hire is based in Southall, Middlesex, and serves customers throughout London and the South East.

Andrew Fishburn, managing director of Snorkel UK, tells me, “The S3010P offers a maximum platform height of 10ft (3m) and complements the 8ft S3008P and 6ft S3006P models. Many hirers choose the S3010P because it offers the greatest versatility.

“It’s a great entry product into the low-level access market, offering a good weekly return and requiring minimal maintenance.”

• Snorkel’s founder, the late Art Moore, has been recognised as an industry pioneer by being inducted into the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) Hall of Fame. The announcement was made during the AEM Annual Conference, held virtually on November 17-20, 2020.

The Hall of Fame honours pioneers whose inventions, ideas, leadership and courage have contributed to the industry and the community's quality of life.

Ideas that Art Moore (pictured) developed included firefighting equipment, aluminium booms and hydraulic telescopic designs that helped solve problems in the off-road industry.
