Takeuchi swings it for Vickers

Vickers Plant Services of Stoke-on-Trent is one of the first companies to add Takeuchi’s new TB217R reduced tail swing mini excavator to its fleet and there has been brisk demand for the machine.

The 1.7-tonne mini complements the manufacturer’s popular 1.6-tonne TB216 and has a slew radius of just 730mm. The track width can also be reduced hydraulically from 1300mm to 900mm for access through narrow openings.

“As soon as I heard about the TB217R from my local dealer, Parkway Plant Services, I was eager to try it,” says owner Dave Vickers, who offers machines chiefly on an operated hire basis for landscaping and ground works.

“After just ten minutes of using it on a site, I made the decision to buy it. The reduced tail swing makes it great for work on new housing sites and utilities, and its longer extended track frame gives great stability. The machine also offer tremendous power for certain tasks such as when using the dozer blade.

“I’ve always run Takeuchi minis since I started the business in 2008 and Parkway Plant Sales is certainly a fantastic dealership,” says Dave. “Their service and commitment are tremendous and they’ve really helped the operation to develop over the years.”

“We’re certainly busy. We’ve continued to do a lot of site work and we frequently get calls from people who want gardens landscaped.”

Takeuchi Mfg (UK) report that they have been very busy serving hirers in recent months. They are also preparing to celebrate their 25th anniversary next year.
