Hirer digs green power

There is much talk of a green economic recovery that directs investments into low-carbon energy sources and technologies. Indeed, companies throughout the world that have set a net zero target now have a combined global revenue of over £8.7 trillion, equivalent to around 13% of global GDP.
For some time now, of course, interest has been growing in environmentally friendly machinery which, as well as lowering use of fossil fuel and decreasing emissions, can bring operational benefits.
Adding a JCB electric mini excavator to its fleet has helped Esher-based hirer Johnson Plant to secure several new contracts.
The business supplies equipment to sister company, Landmark Groundworks, and was one of the first customers to buy a 19C-1E after the machine’s launch.
Johnson Plant director, Jake Johnson said, “Clients and local authorities have increasingly stringent environmental policies and site restrictions. By investing in this zero emissions JCB machine, it guarantees we can operate on any site, no matter the location or legislation it is governed by.”
He adds that operators are surprised by the power of the machine and that it compares favourably with traditional diesel alternatives.
