Performance pumps

In the latest in a series of product launches held online because of the pandemic, Atlas Copco’s Power and Flow division recently unveiled its new PAC H range of high head pumps.

They are designed to offer high solids capabilities and ease of servicing, and target markets include construction, mining, water transfer and municipal applications.

The seals on the machines are said to offer three times longer service life owing to the incorporation of deflector vanes on the rear of the impeller. A semi-cartridge seal design allows changeovers without having to dismantle the pump.

To facilitate servicing, the impeller is of a bolt-on design, rather than being a press fit, giving quick access to wear components.

The PAC H range comprises four models up to 150m head, with a maximum capacity of 1200 cubic metres and the ability to handle liquids containing solids of up to 89mm. A compact design is said to give a machine footprint that is as much as 30% smaller than some comparable pumps.
