One Stop Hire adds Clow lifts

Clow Group reports strong demand for its access equipment, ladders and steps, reflecting the ongoing resilience of construction activity.

Amongst recent orders is one for eight Instant Upright X400 adjustable work platforms from One Stop Hire. This follows an earlier order for seven machines which have proved very popular for the Chorley-based hire business.

James Brown, One Stop Hire’s SHEQ/Operations Manager, says the purchasing decision was based on the X400’s compact design and manoeuvrability, plus the fact that the platform height is adjusted via a gas-assisted spring meaning no power is required.

There is no risk of hydraulic oil leaks and maintenance is minimised.

Clow Group’s sales director Dougie McCombie tells me that the company has made several new staff additions as a result of growing demand.

Stuart Anderson has been promoted to the position of technical director. He was previously sales manager and joined Clow Group five years ago. Stuart has served on various PASMA committees and is a qualified trainer.

More fabricators have also been recruited.
