Covid forces EHS date change

The uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic has led to the Executive Hire Show being re-scheduled from February to 28 and 29 April 2021 at its established venue of the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

Chris Moore, publishing and events director, said, “I have not taken this decision lightly and have consulted with event managers, hirers and many of our commercial partners and all have agreed with this prudent measure and have confirmed that they would rather the event is moved, and that stringent safety procedures are implemented, than the show is postponed to any later in the year, or indeed cancelled.

“I appreciate that this decision will impact on organisations and visitors’ travel plans. However, the health, safety and wellbeing of all Executive Hire Show attendees and exhibitors has to be our number one priority and I hope people will understand why we have had to take this course of action in the face of unprecedented circumstances.”

He added that the Show is more than 70% booked.

The organisers say that ‘four cornerstones’ will frame the health and safety measures to be taken to protect exhibitors, visitors and supporting personnel during the build-up, event and breakdown periods.

These parameters comprise cleaning and hygiene, communication with visitors and exhibitors, social distancing, and ‘protect and detect’ covering aspects such as face masks, contact tracing and medical support, according to the All Secure Standard document from the Association of Event Organisers.

With effectively no major events or exhibitions having taken place since the lockdown back on 23 March, let’s hope that the Show will be one of the first as the ‘new normal’ takes shape.
