JCB reaches into space
19 October 2020
JCB has ensured that its impending 75th birthday this Friday, 23 October is a landmark - literally.
A huge artwork with the figure 75 has been carved into a Staffordshire stubble field to mark the occasion.
The giant logo is so large that it can apparently be seen by satellites orbiting the Earth. The field is located eight miles away from the JCB World Headquarters at Rocester and covers almost eight acres, equivalent to four football pitches.
The image was created by a JCB Fastrac tractor equipped with a precision guidance system. Digital artwork was uploaded to the machine’s automatic steering, which then calculated the paths for it to follow.
