Fresh Green Apples
2 October 2020
Two industry suppliers are celebrating success in winning Green Apple Environment awards for their eco-friendly products. This comes at a time when the importance of using such equipment has been highlighted during the pandemic.
The awards are given by The Green Organisation which promotes best environmental practice worldwide.
Genquip Groundhog has won a Green Apple for its Unisex Solar Hybrid Toilet, pictured above, which has separate low-flush WCs, an on-board heating system and 12V LED lights powered by a battery connected to a solar panel and a backup generator.
Also harvesting a Green Apple is Trime UK for the X-Solar lighting tower, which has LED lamps powered by a combination of solar energy, a battery and a backup generator. Trime states that the machine produces zero noise and minimal emissions during 95% of typical operation.
The awards are scheduled to be presented in November at a ceremony in London.
