Speedy earns HS2 standard

Speedy has achieved the Earned Recognition HS2 module standard from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).

This approval means that the hirer meets HS2’s safety and security requirements for heavy vehicles on its sites.

Accredited vehicle operators have measures in place to continuously monitor compliance with DVSA-validated IT systems.

• In a trading update last week, Speedy stated that group revenues, pre disposals, for the year to date are approximately 23% lower than for 2019, with utilisation rates in the UK and Ireland being 52.9% (54.6% last year).

Following the Covid-19 pandemic, UK and Ireland staff numbers have been reduced by around 7% to 3,222 as of 31 August. The company has closed 13 depots and others will be consolidated into larger operating locations.
