Great timing for GT Trax

They say that timing is everything and a significant contract for ground protection products came at just the right moment for specialist hirer, GT Trax.

“We had an early indication of Covid-19’s likely impact in February,” Director Graham Crisp tells me. “Normally we would be gearing up for a busy spring and summer events season but all we were getting were cancellations from organisers.

“However, we had ongoing projects in the construction sector, and then we won a major contract from a contractor working for HS2. They urgently needed a substantial quantity of temporary roadway for five site compounds that were opening.

Short notice

“We supplied and laid, at very short notice, our Power Tracks 20 panels. Our installation team had no problem with social distancing because each section is 3m wide, and they all wore face masks and gloves.”

The panels are made from recycled and recyclable heavy-duty plastic and bolt together to form a roadway for cars, vans and light traffic.

Graham adds that GT Trax is currently also winning work from contractors delivering modular buildings at schools to provide extra classroom space.
