ViC Group cleans up

A family-owned hire business based in Lincoln has successfully introduced a range of self-contained hand washing stations to meet demand from construction sites and other facilities.

ViC Group’s new V-San sink range includes mobile hot and cold-water versions that have integral tanks for fresh and waste water so that they do not need to be plumbed in. Operation is via a foot pump. The hot water versions are available in 110V and 240V formats, as well as a low-level version for use in schools. Compact models can also be installed in vehicles.

“We introduced a unit before the Covid-19 outbreak for an existing client,” Partner, John Jackson, told me. “Refurbishing work was being carried out in a canteen area at a railway station where there was no convenient mains water supply, and we found a supplier who could make these units to our specification.

“Since the virus, demand has grown and so we have developed a more comprehensive range for hire and sale. They are made of stainless steel and can be wrapped with corporate colours or logos,” John said.

The V-San line-up also includes a growing range of PPE such as gloves and face masks, along with cleaning and disinfectant products to complement the existing hire products.

ViC Group started as ‘Versatile Industries Company’ in 1981 providing small tool hire mainly to the power stations in Nottinghamshire. It now serves clients throughout the UK and has a large and diverse fleet, ranging from tools and builders’ equipment, to powered access, compact plant and specialist equipment such as ATEX-rated equipment, air conditioning and power generation.
