Hilti has a reputation for innovation and it has been successfully using the latest online technology to maintain its operations.

Indeed, when I called Walid Hussain, Head of Product Management with Hilti GB, he’d just finished a long video conference call with a key account customer from his home.

“We employ around 1,000 people in the UK and we furloughed half, although they have started to come back now. We’ve been able to keep them informed and motivated with online training and demonstrations, which has really helped them to remain a valued part of the team.

“Our online sales have always been strong, so hirers have been able to keep dealing with us, and we’ve kept our central service and repair operation open in Glasgow throughout the Covid-19 situation.”

Walid added that Hilti personnel have supported each other, as well as supporting the company. This is just the sort of teamwork that will help companies meet the challenges that lie ahead.
