Efficiency from Croppers

Gleaming in their pale blue livery on the National Pile Croppers stand at ScotPlant in Edinburgh last week, the impressive appearance of the attachments showed how well the specialist company looks after its products because they had come straight out of its hire fleet.

The business was founded in 2018 and has three main depots supplying customers throughout the country. The most recent was opened in Airdrie last year to serve Scotland.

Regional Sales Manager Stephen Wyber told me that business is growing amongst groundworks contractors and civil engineering firms, as well as home builders.

“It’s quite common in Scotland for construction work to take place in former mining areas that require piles to be put in,” he said. “Instead of employing several people using hand-held breakers and other vibrating equipment, contractors can fit our pile croppers to the excavators they already have on site and carry out the job more efficiently and productively.”

The attachments are designed and manufactured in the UK by a sister business and the range includes the Quad Croppers models which utilise four powerful and synchronised rams with specially designed blades.
