A different bucket list

Changes were made to the Building Regulations Part L from 15 June to take account of the need to introduce energy saving and insulation measures on new constructions, and this could create demand for different excavator bucket sizes, according to the attachment manufacturer, Digbits.
In some instances, most footings will become wider to accommodate the addition of extra materials. Marcus Clay, Director of Digbits, believes that many contractors and hirers might find that they require larger excavator buckets as a result.
“The sizes of footings obviously varies depending on ground type and total load bearings but in some cases the required dimensions will be bigger,” he told me. “So hirers could find that customers ask for buckets outside the previously common sizes.”
Marcus said that Digbits is well placed to meet demand as it makes its attachments in the UK and can respond quickly.
Founded in 1990, Digbits initially catered for the growing UK mini excavator and chain trencher market, but became specialist in spare parts and attachments for all types of excavators of up to 80 tonnes operating weight.
