Mood of optimism
29 December 2022
There is some cheering news in a survey of businesses confidence conducted by Lloyds Bank. Some 63 per cent of those polled believed they would enjoy more success over the next 12 months, and 52 per cent forecast higher revenues than in 2022.
Nine out of ten also said that they were planning investment drives for their businesses to bolster growth.
It suggests once again that economic challenges like the rising interest rates and higher inflation that are currently evident will not impact all businesses equally.
Indeed, 16 per cent of businesses in the survey believed their revenues would rise by more than 20 per cent, while 22 per cent of them expected turnover to increase by between 5 per cent and 19 per cent.
The poll was conducted amongst 1,200 businesses with annual revenues of more than £250,000.
As the blog has stated in the past, there are always opportunities for growth. Moreover, as hirers typically serve customers across many different markets, from builders to landscape gardeners, and from film production companies to festival organisers, they will be able to steer towards the most positive ones.
And that’s an optimistic thought as the new year approaches.
