GreenMech on Trak
14 December 2021
At a recent open event for the media at its Warwickshire factory, wood chipper manufacturer GreenMech gave an insight into its latest initiatives and new products.
Sales director Martin Lucas said that a particular challenge for all suppliers had been the introduction of Stage V engines designed to meet emissions regulations. This has required the re-engineering of approximately 20 GreenMech models at a time when supply chain disruptions had led to issues concerning availability, particularly of third-party hydraulics and electric components.
The latest launches are the EVO 205D and EVO 205D SURE-Trak, the latter designed to provide safety and stability when working across slopes of up to 35 degrees.
A specially designed system allows each track to be raised or lowered independently on the move, ensuring the machine maintains a horizontal position when climbing or descending, and provides up to 540mm of ground clearance. This also helps to protect machine components and enhances engine lubrication.
Power comes from a 50hp, Stage V compliant Kubota diesel engine and a ‘Smart Sense’ controller is incorporated for overload protection when dealing with bulky material.
Optional equipment that can be fitted to the machines includes a winch, lighting tower and remote control. Other models are scheduled for launch in 2022, including a fixed track variant.
Rounding off the event Jonathan Turner, GreenMech’s managing director, said, “We’re proud of our achievements and how we’ve overcome such a challenging couple of years, but now is the time to be even more positive and excited about our future.”
