New HQ for Stihl GB

Stihl GB expects that by this time next year work will have been completed on a new purpose-designed headquarters and warehouse facility near to its current premises in Camberley, Surrey. 

The 11,500m2 facility is due for completion in December 2022 and will accommodate approximately 100 employees. It will also have dedicated dealer training facilities, flexible collaborative workspaces and a technical workshop. 

The new warehouse space will have modern picking and storage systems to maximise efficiency and Stihl says that all logistics will now be consolidated onto one site for speedier delivery to the manufacturer’s 700-strong dealer network. 

Kay Green, managing director of Stihl GB, said: “Stihl has enjoyed a sustained period of growth in recent years, and as a consequence we have outgrown our existing warehouse and office facilities.”

The building will incorporate a number of environmentally friendly characteristics. It is proposed that two-thirds of the total roof area (1,600m2) will be covered with solar panels and there will be provision for 26 electric vehicle charging points. 

The new headquarters will be connected to Blackwater railway station by a dedicated cycle path. It will also have landscaped gardens with native shrubs and trees, and a wildflower meadow which forms part of an integrated flood risk mitigation zone on a former Thames Water Utilities site. 

The company aims to relocate to the new HQ from its current premises in January 2023.
