CLM meets Hoist demand

The current strength of construction activity is borne out by the levels of business at specialist hirer Hoist Hire Services Ltd, which has just added five more Maber transport platform hoists from CLM Construction Supplies to its fleet.

Hoist Hire Services has three depots in Bristol, Buckfastleigh and Dudley and is “flat out busy and investing in a lot of new kit to keep up with demand,” according to Technical and Compliance Manager Chris Douce, whose uncle Jerry Douce founded the business back in 1995.

“We are finding that most construction sectors are busy right now, such as cladding replacement/installation, refurbishment works, high-rise blocks and new-builds, and all are keen to secure our services.

“We offer a comprehensive range of construction hoists, from small 100kg wire rope hoists through to state-of-the-art 2-tonne passenger hoists capable of transporting 22 people at once.”

This most recent CLM order comprises a Maber MBC2000 transport platform, two MBC1000 transport platforms and two MB500 goods-only hoists. These are suitable for both large scale projects and for work in more confined spaces respectively, according to Greg Dent, CLM’s technical manager.

Chris Douce tells me that the machines are going straight out on hire for projects in several locations across the UK, again showing the strength of the market.
