JCB’s big book
17 December 2020
It might need a large stocking to put it in, but a new book celebrating JCB’s 75 years in business has been published, just in time for Christmas.
The 144-page JCB Scrapbook has more than 400 photographs from the company’s archives, some of which are being published for the first time, and it should be a treat for fans of the manufacturer’s iconic machinery.
JCB Chairman Lord Bamford said: “This book, I hope, will act as a celebration of the past 75 years: the innovations, the engineering excellence, and the achievements of all those who have made up the wider JCB family from its inception in 1945.
“I hope, too, that it will serve as inspiration for the next generation – those talented young people currently rising through the colleges and universities, including our very own JCB Academy.”
Published by Porter Press International and priced at £20, the book tracks the company’s development from making its first trailer, produced from post-war scrap metal in 1945, to its latest award-winning electric mini digger.
