Into the Mist with Trime

Trime is well-known for its mobile lighting towers, which would normally be a common sight at festivals and summer events. While activity has continued in sectors like construction and road building, the company has been busy exploring new opportunities since the outbreak of Covid-19.

Aware of the need for strict standards of sanitation at work sites, shops, stadiums, offices, stations, airports and other public spaces, Trime has now launched the X-Mist.

Available in 1m and 3m long versions, the product resembles the walk-through scanners seen at airport security. It can be placed at areas such as the entrances and exits of facilities, and connects to mains water and electricity.

Incorporating motion sensors, the X-Mist sprays a fine mist of ozone-treated water as people walk through. The sanitising agent is dispensed from a cartridge (pictured below) that is claimed to give more than 40,000 applications before replacement is required.

Trime says this technology is already being used in health care and food processing environments.

Paul Hay, MD of Trime UK, tells me that other Covid-related products are currently under development at the manufacturer’s main factory near Milan, led by Technical Director Andrea Fontanella.
